MCW Westfield Ultra

Event Overview

The MCW Westfield Ultra is a timed running event hosted at Tamaques Park in Westfield, New Jersey. Participants register for a 3-hour, 6-hour, 9-hour, 12-hour, or 24-hour event, during which they aim to complete as many loops of the park as possible. Each loop is 0.8 miles and offers the option to run on pavement or gravel.

Course and Logistics

The event starts and finishes in the main parking lot next to the tennis courts and playground, where participants can park. Restrooms are available at this location. Runners may place personal gear, coolers, and shade structures near the start area. For the 24-hour event, specific rules apply: runners must use a headlamp and wear a reflective vest at night, only 24-hour participants may set up a tent (close to sundown), and quiet hours begin at 8:00 PM.

Support and Amenities

An aid station at the start/finish line provides snacks, prepared food, ice, water, electrolytes, GI supplies, first aid, and hot weather gear. Participants are welcome to have their own support crew, who can bring supplies, shade canopies, and food. Pacers are also allowed. The organizers request a small donation to the host organization for each support crew member.

Host Organization

The event is hosted by MissionCleanWater, a nonprofit organization focused on providing clean drinking water and sanitation to underserved communities. Registration fees act as a donation to support these efforts. A fundraising component is available; participants who raise $500 for clean water projects receive a full registration refund and guaranteed entry to future races.
