The Christmas Charity Run at Rathfinny

The Christmas Charity Run at Rathfinny

The event is a cupless charity run held at Rathfinny Wine Estate in the South Downs National Park, with Race HQ near the Tasting Room in Alfriston. Runners follow vineyard trails that pass through vines and offer views of the surrounding downs.

The course is organised as two 5 km loops around the estate. Terrain is mainly grass and chalky flint trail with undulating hilly cambers in places. Only water will be available at the start and finish, so participants must bring their own hydration or cup.

Entry is limited to 75 places and the event is restricted to local runners to reduce car travel and ecological impact. £8 of the £12.50 race fee is allocated directly to the WOLO Foundation. A bottle of Rathfinny sparkling wine is listed as a prize for the first male and the first female finisher.

On event day there is parking near the Cellar Door and Tasting Room; a £5 donation charge applies for single use parking, and parking is free for cars with two or more runners under the car sharing criteria. Portable toilets will be available near The Hut. A supervised bag drop is offered at the start but is used at the runner’s own risk and bags should be clearly labelled with race number and name. Medical cover will be provided by MedExPlus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
