The Christmas Charity Run at Rathfinny
The event is a cupless charity run held at Rathfinny Wine Estate in the South Downs National Park, with the race base at the Tasting Room, Alfriston (BN26 5TU). The route comprises two 5 km loops through the estate vineyards on mainly grass, chalky and flint trails with undulating hilly cambers and views of the surrounding downs.
Entry is limited to 75 places and the event is restricted to local runners to reduce car travel. The entry fee is £12.50, of which £8 is donated to the WOLO Foundation. Medical cover will be provided by MedExPlus, who have donated their fee to the charity. Timing will be recorded via Webscorer and runners must wear their race number on the front of their shirt for accurate timing.
Facilities at Race HQ include portable toilets near The Hut and a single water aid station at the start/finish; participants should bring their own hydration vessels. A bag drop is available at the start but is used at the runner’s own risk and bags should be clearly labelled. There are parking spaces for runners near the Cellar Door and Tasting Room; single-use parking carries a £5 donation charge, while cars with two or more runners park free under the car sharing criteria. The organiser requests that participants do not drop litter on the course or at Race HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
