The Chanctonbury Chase

The Chanctonbury Chase is a looped trail running event held at Wiston Estate in the South Downs National Park, introduced for 2027. The course is built around a fully marked scenic 10K circuit that runs through rolling hills, woodland tracks and estate roads.

Runners can choose from the following distances:

  • 10K one loop
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • 100K

The looped format brings runners past a central Event Village on each circuit, allowing spectators to watch participants as they pass and creating regular points of support. The course combines climbs and descents across typical South Downs terrain.

Event services include a fully marked and marshalled course, a bespoke finisher's medal, chip timing with live results and a well stocked aid station every 10K loop supplying water, energy drinks, gels, fruit and sweet snacks. Medical cover is provided throughout the event. The Event Village offers toilets, free baggage drop, a shower, food and coffee vendors and race photography. Free parking is available subject to availability.

The Chanctonbury Chase presents a looped trail format with multiple distance options and on course support centred on the Event Village. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
