The Black Bull 15

The Black Bull 15 is a trail event on 16 August 2026 offering a competitive 15 mile trail run and a 15 km social hike. The event is for over 18s only. A TRA race permit is listed as 6613 TBC, and non TRA or England Athletics members pay an additional two pound levy. The organisers note this is their 20th anniversary year and that event merchandise and medals will reflect that milestone.

Two route options are available:

  • 15 mile trail run, competitive.
  • 15 km social hike, timed but not a race.

Registration takes place in the beer garden where participants collect race numbers, water and event T shirts. The beer garden is also the start and finish location. The start format will be different in 2026 and runners will set off within a specified window; the race start sheet is emailed in the last week of July. Route narrative and a Strava route are provided and the route narrative is downloadable the week before the event via Multisport Management.

All starters receive a vest or T shirt style TBC. All finishers receive a medal, a complimentary beverage and ten percent off their food bill when they hand their race number to bar staff. Awards for the fastest man and fastest woman in the longer run include free entry to the next edition. Parking is available opposite the Black Bull and in the pub car park but participants are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible. Full results will be published on the event website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
