The Big Run Roanoke takes place on June 3, 2026. The event is held at Fallon Park on Dale Avenue SE in Roanoke, Virginia. It features two separate events: a timed 5K run and a free kids' fun run.
Course and Activities
The timed 5K is an out-and-back course on the Tinker Greenway, starting and ending at Fallon Park. The free kids' fun run is a short race on the grassy hill above the finish line. The 5K also serves as the official 5K for the Virginia Commonwealth Games. Timing is provided by Mountain Junkies LLC.
Registration and Awards
The 5K registration has a tiered fee structure, increasing as the event date approaches. The event is limited to the first 350 registrants. Awards are presented for the top three male and female finishers, top three male and female Masters athletes, and top male and female finishers in multiple age groups. A "Middle of the Pack" award is given to the finisher in the median race position. A separate prize for the top fundraiser includes an outfit from Brooks Running.

The event benefits Smiles4Tab, a non-profit organization supporting local causes.
Additional Information
Packet pickup is available on the day before and the day of the race at various locations, including Fleet Feet Roanoke and Big Lick Brewing Co. Parking is available at the Fallon Park Pool lots and a Greenway entrance lot. There are no refunds, including for weather-related cancellations.
