The Big Deal at Great Seal : Chillicothe, OH
The event uses a roughly 20 mile loop at Great Seal State Park near Chillicothe, Ohio. Multiple distance options use this loop in different combinations, including a 100 mile option made up of five laps and a 100k composed of three laps plus a short finishing loop. The loop is mostly single track, with about 95% single track and 5% dual track, and about 3100–3200 feet of elevation gain per loop.
Distances:
- 100 mile five laps of the 20 mile course
- 100k three laps plus a short finishing loop
- 20 miler one lap of the 20 mile course
- Adult 5k single loop
- 5k Youth single loop
Course notes: the course includes many named trail features and contains sections with two-way traffic; one rough section was removed for safety, which added about one mile of two-way traffic. There are five aid stations per 20 mile loop located at the start/finish, Rocky Road, and Lick Run; they will offer water, soda, electrolytes, hot food, and snacks.
Support rules: crew access is allowed at the start/finish and Lick Run only. Pacers are permitted for 100k and 100 mile after the first lap, must be registered and wear a pacer bib, and may access runners only at the designated aid stations. Drop bag and mandatory gear policies apply for long distances. Podium awards and finisher items are specified for each distance, and a special Golden Goat recognition is tied to sub 26 hour finishes or top finishers if no sub 26 hour results occur.
