About the race
The Big Deal at Great Seal is a trail running event on May 1, 2027 in Chillicothe, OH. It offers multiple distances on a 20 mile loop course centered in Great Seal State Park.

The course is a roughly 20 mile loop with about 3100–3200 feet of elevation gain per loop. The route is primarily single track (about 95%) with some dual track sections. Notable landmarks on the loop include Ireland Shelter, Sugarloaf, Bald Hill, Sand Hill, Rock Garden, Lick Run, and Shawnee Ridge. One section across Shawnee Ridge will have two-way traffic; course markings will differentiate flow.
There are five aid stops on the loop located near the start/finish, Rocky Road, and Lick Run. Aid stations will be stocked with water, soda, electrolytes, hot food, and snacks. Crew access is allowed only at the start/finish (Ireland Shelter) and Lick Run; crew access at Rocky Road or elsewhere on course is not permitted. Runners may set up a small tent or table near the start/finish (10x10 canopy max).
Cutoffs apply to the 100 mile distance: a 36 hour overall cutoff and a requirement to begin the final lap within 28 hours. The race director may alter on-course decisions.
Mandatory items for 100 mile and 100k competitors must be carried at all times: a GPX file on device, two headlamps or one with spare batteries, whistle, emergency foil blanket, minimum 1 L carrying capacity for water, and a collapsible cup.
