The BIG Cheese

The BIG Cheese is a fell race on 12 April 2026 covering 15 miles with over 2,000 feet of ascent. It is organised as a Fell Race Category B and the course is fully marked and marshalled.

The start is located on Warrens Hill, about one mile from Fairlands School. The first two miles run steadily uphill onto the Mendips. The finish is at Fairlands School, where competitors have access to an indoor seating area and tea and cake included with entry.

Registration opens on 12 April 2026 at Fairlands Middle School, Masons Way, Cheddar BS27 3PG. Race facilities at the event include baggage storage, changing, toilets both at Race HQ and at the race start, showers, and indoor seating. There is no parking at the school; participants are asked to use the main car park next to the Riverside pub (BS27 3PX), which is around a ten minute walk from registration and the start.

There are water stations at miles 4, 7 and 11 with some snacks, including vegan options. Trail shoes are advised. The event has a four hour cut off and a sweeper will be present.
