The Bear Chase Race
The Bear Chase Race Endurance Festival is scheduled for October 3-4, 2026 at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood, Colorado. The event offers multiple trail distances over two days.
Distances:
- 100K (62.2 miles)
- 50 Mile (50.0 miles)
- 50K (31.1 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
Nearly all courses are run on dirt and crusher fine singletrack; the 50K, 10K and 5K include short paved sections. Course profiles list total elevation gain for each distance and a maximum elevation near 5,798 feet. Aid stations are placed around the loops and offer fluids such as water and Tailwind, soda, and a mix of sweet and salty snacks and fruit. Porta potties are available at aid locations.
Crew and drop bag support is permitted only at the Start/Finish area. Pacers are allowed for the longest events under race rules and must check in at the Start/Finish; pacers are not allowed for several shorter races. The event is cup free and requires runners to carry their own hydration system. Medical support includes a main medical tent at the Start/Finish and basic first aid at aid stations. Runners who withdraw on course must report to the nearest aid station and notify race staff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
