The Ale Trail

Alfriston, United Kingdom • 26 Apr 2026

Event

The Ale Trail is a 15 mile organised run taking place on 26 April 2026. The event is run by Multisport Management and is limited to 50 places. The route begins at the beer garden of Ye Olde Smugglers Inne in Alfriston. The event uses a 4 hour 30 minute cut-off for completion. Registration was open at the time of listing.

Practical information

The organiser provides a GPX file and a race narrative for navigation; participants are advised to follow the route on Strava or use a printed narrative as a backup. There are two staffed checkpoints at pubs on the course: The Hampden Arms and The Ram Inn. At each checkpoint a marshal records arrival and issues a beer token; tokens can be exchanged at the bar for a drink and a snack (crisps, nuts or a chocolate bar). Finishers hand their race number to the bar and may claim a final drink (options listed include a pint, a glass of wine or a soft drink). Merchandise is included in the entry fee but details are not finalised.

Travel notes list Berwick and Seaford as the nearest train stations and mention local bus services. There is free local parking and a pay-and-display carpark within a short walk of the start/finish. Entry fees range from £33 to £37 depending on booking date; a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies. Participants are asked to carry a mobile phone and to bring layers and a lightweight running jacket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
