The Somers Track & Field Booster Club 7th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The event includes two official distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 5K course is on the Somers High School Cross Country trail and features hills and turns. Registration fees include medals for all participants. For the 5K, the registration fee includes a 2025 Turkey Trot tee shirt guaranteed for the first 250 registrants. Shirt size selection is guaranteed for registrations completed by October 28, 2025. Group registrations of four or more in the 5K receive a $10 discount.
Logistics and rules
Awards are presented to the top three males and females in these age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Packet pickup is scheduled on the days before the event at 3 Verona Place, Mahopac (Lake Lincolndale), NY 10541; limited packet pickup is available on race day. Dogs are not allowed on school grounds. Strollers are not permitted on the off-road course. Organizers state that reasonable COVID-19 precautions will be used and that the event may convert to a virtual format if in-person races must be canceled.
