Course and location

The course starts on the lower fields of the John Jay Campus, enters wooded trails adjacent to the middle school and high school, and finishes at the John Jay Contest Track & Field next to Route 121. The trails include hilly sections and a southern hill loop that the walkers skip for most of the 4k route. The event location is listed as 40 N Salem Rd, Cross River, NY 10518.

Logistics and trail information

The Kids Jay Dash is run on the track and is 200 meters long. The first 150 pre-registered runners and walkers receive a race t-shirt; the first 30 kids registered for the Dash receive a t-shirt. Since the trail and course are on school grounds, animals are not permitted except for service animals that meet the ADA definition. The John Jay Community Cross Country Trail was developed and built by student and community volunteers and serves as a home course for local championship teams. The race has multiple sponsor partners and offers opportunities for volunteer involvement and trail building work.
