Texoma Challenge - June 6, 2026
The Texoma Challenge is an endurance trail event held at Waterloo Park in Denison, Texas. The course follows a 6.2 mile loop of trails that begins and ends in the park and is used to build each distance offered at the event.
Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 50K Relay
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 10K Ruck
- 5K
The trails are rooty and consist mainly of dirt single track with rolling hills. Each loop has about 500 feet of elevation gain. Historic average temperatures for the date range from roughly 68 to 80 degrees. The event is a no cup race, so participants must provide their own water-carrying system. A headlamp is required for all participants. There is a 9 hour cutoff for all events.
Ruck specific rules: runners over 150 pounds carry a 30 pound ruck, and runners under 150 pounds carry a 20 pound ruck. A ruck sack or vest is allowed for the ruck event.
All distances include a Texoma Challenge tee and awards for overall places. Running events receive finisher medals and the ruck event awards a ruck patch. The event is part of the Texas Summer Night Series; series passes are available until June 3, 2026 and may offer up to 20 percent savings. Registration closes June 5 at 11:59 PM CT.
