Firecracker Trek Sherman

The event is a trail running event held at Herman Baker Park in Sherman, Texas, using Herman Baker Trail and part of Binkley Park Trail. The course features rolling hills, cliffside views, switchbacks, and flowing rivers and is organized as looped 5K segments.

Course surfaces include technical rock and dirt single track, rocky and rooty trail sections, and bridges. Each 5K loop includes slight elevation changes. The event is cupless, so runners should bring a personal cup or bottle.

The start and finish are located near the main parking lot at Herman Baker Park, with parking available at the main lot. Packet pickup is available on race day and the course is fully marked and supported. Aid stations provide hydration and snacks. Photography and volunteer support are part of the race experience.

All participants receive a Firecracker Trek water bottle as their finisher item. Awards are given for first through third place for male and female divisions, for first place male and female age 50 and over, and a Dead Freakin Last award.

Registration closes at midnight before the race or when the field reaches 100 participants. No race day registration is available. Fees follow a tiered schedule with increases on specified dates. Runners may receive race credit with a minimum 30 day notice; full refunds are not offered. Discounts are available for active duty military and first responders with ID.
