TedDriven Overland Ultra Relay (TOUR), North Central Washington

The TedDriven Overland Ultra Relay (TOUR) is a three day stage relay that runs through North Central Washington. It is designed for teams of up to eight runners and combines timed competition with a low tech navigation approach. There is no chip timing and no reliance on digital maps; teams use printed or PDF maps, elevation guides, and light course markings.

Each day covers roughly 75 miles divided into 16 legs. Daily routes move through varied terrain and communities: Day 1 departs from Leavenworth, WA, Day 2 moves through Cashmere, WA, and Day 3 runs from Entiat to the shores of Lake Chelan. The course includes singletrack trails, logging roads, pavement, alpine forest and ridgelines, orchards and vineyards, and remote sections.

Logistics require teams to provide their own transportation, hydration, and food. Organizers provide PDF maps with elevation and turn by turn descriptions about one week before the event. A certified medical professional is on course each day and coordinates with regional hospitals if needed. Portable toilets are available at designated areas and teams must pack out all waste.

Entry is managed by team captain registration with a listed captain fee of $1,723.39; discounts are noted for military, non profit, and student teams. Year one is limited to 30 teams. The event records cumulative team times and includes finisher awards, event photos, a captain's dinner and a post race celebration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
