The Mad Meadows 50 takes place on October 11, 2025, near Leavenworth, Washington. The event offers two distances:

The race is presented as a new 2025 event and is held on public forest lands under a special use permit with the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The course passes through alpine ridgelines and meadows during larch season and includes high-elevation sections with long views east into the Entiat River Valley and west toward Dakobed (Glacier Peak).
Course and logistics
The course is remote and combines smooth single track, steep climbs, and technical sections. Elevation gain is listed as approximately 6,000 ft for the 50K and 11,000 ft for the 50 Miler; high points are noted above 6,000 ft for the 50K and above 7,000 ft for the 50 Miler. Start and finish are at Grouse Creek Group Campground on Chiwawa River Road; parking near the start/finish is limited.
Aid stations are located on the route, including hike-in and remote stations. Basalt and Chikamin aid stations will offer hot food in addition to standard ultra fare; Mad Meadows aid station is hike-in and will have simpler items. Drop bag availability: 50M at Basalt and Chikamin, 50K at Chikamin. Pacers are not allowed. Crew access is limited to Rock Creek, Basalt, Chikamin, and Entiat aid stations. The event is cupless; participants must carry a refillable container. Required gear: 50M - headlamp, light rain/wind jacket, 2 L water capacity, and course GPS; 50K - light rain/wind jacket, 1 L water capacity, and course GPS.
