Leavenworth Trail Fest
The Leavenworth Trail Fest is a trail running event in the German-themed town of Leavenworth, Washington. It takes place at the base of the Leavenworth Ski Hill Area. The courses go through the surrounding mountains and include views of the Cascade range.
Distances
The event offers three race distances:
- Ski Hill 55k: A 55 km course with approximately 7,700 feet of elevation gain. It consists of two loops of the 27k course. There is a 10-hour cutoff time.
- Leavenworth Skyline 27k: A 27 km course with approximately 3,800 feet of elevation gain. Runners can register for Elite, Masters (45+), or Sport divisions. It is a participating race in the Vert Running Series.
- The Town 5k: A 5 km course described as trail and beginner-friendly.
Event Details
All finishers of the 27k and 55k races may choose between a custom finisher award or having three trees planted through a partnership. Participants in these races also receive a post-race meal. All 5k finishers receive a custom finisher's medal.
Podium awards are given to the top three finishers in men's, women's, and non-binary categories for each distance. Additional awards, including gear from Brooks and Black Diamond, are given for the fastest runners to the high point on the 27k course. The top man and woman in the 27k win a free entry to the Mammoth Trailfest.
A trail festival takes place at the base of the ski hill. Planned activities include a food tent, a kids race, live music, and games like Hammerslag. Packet pickup and a group run are scheduled for the day before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
