Courses and divisions

The Leavenworth Skyline 27k uses mountain bike trails and forest service roads around Tumwater Ridge and Freund Canyon. The 27k course has about 3,800 feet of vertical gain, includes an approximate 2-mile ascent via "The Nut," and reaches the Tumwater Paraglider Launch area before descending to the finish. Divisions for the 27k are Elite, Sport and Masters (45+). Elite runners have a time limit of 2:40:00. The 27k is a qualifying event in the 2026 Vert Running Series.

The Ski Hill 55k is two loops of the Skyline course and delivers over 7,700 feet of vertical gain. The 55k is not part of the Vert Running Series.

The Town 5k is a shorter course with awards for top finishers by age and gender categories, including youth divisions.

Awards, swag and other details

Top-three awards are given by Men, Women and Non-binary categories across events. Finishers may choose a custom finisher award or opt to have five trees planted in the Pacific Northwest via One Tree Planted. All participants receive a post-race meal; 5k finishers receive a custom wood medal, snacks and a meal from La Javelina. Volunteers receive a $20 credit per hour usable on future events.
