Tartan Warrior takes place on 28 March 2026 at Fit Body Farm, Wheatrig Farm, Kilmaurs, Ayrshire (KA3 2NG). The event is licensed by British Obstacle Sports and the 3km Short Course acts as the British OCR 3km Championship 2026 and Race 1 in the 3km OCR UK Series and the Scottish OCR Series. The event venue won Best Obstacle Facility at the 2024 UKOCR awards and the event won UK Obstacle Course Event of the Year at the 2024 UKOCR awards.

Races and categories

The 3km Short Course is approximately 3 km with 30+ obstacles, run on fields, short hills, streams and trails, and will use a multi-band penalty system. It is open to participants aged 10+; British Obstacle Sports membership is required. Podiums include overall, age groups, international and adaptive athlete categories; finishers receive a British OCR 3k Championship patch. The 400m Sprint (10+ years) features about 12 obstacles and will be run on fields; formats include time trials or time trials plus head-to-head knockouts. The 4 x 100m Mixed Relay (10+ years) uses the 400m course with each runner completing three obstacles in their 100m leg; mixed-gender categories exist for youth and adults.

Venue, facilities and rules

Parking includes hard-surface spaces for up to 80 cars plus field parking (weather permitting); a small parking donation is requested. Portable toilets and on-site food are provided; there are no showers. Footwear rules prohibit football boots or spikes. Children under 16 need parent or guardian permission; children under 10 must be accompanied by a participating adult (one adult per up to three children). Entries have staged fee tiers for each race. Trail runs nearby

A community trail run of approximately 10k at Palacerigg Country Park, raising funds for Freedom City Foundation. The undulating route uses single track and forest paths, includes a shuttle from Greenfaulds Station, and is open to participa..

A trail race of about 8.4 miles through the West Highland Way and Mugdock Country Park, chip timed and fully marshalled, with a 300 runner limit. Proceeds support the 20th Glasgow Scout Group and finishers receive a medal and refreshments.

Five mile trail on the Isle of Arran with about 600 feet of ascent, running from Whiting Bay past Glen Ashdale Falls and through Forestry roads and the Fairy Glen. Scottish Athletics licensed event, age limit 16 and over.

A three day ultra running challenge along the West Highland Way covering about 54 km, 42 km and 58 km on successive days. Small group format with overnight bag transfer and varied Highland scenery from Loch Lomond to Fort William.
