The Milngavie Trail Race 2026

The Milngavie Trail Race takes runners along trails of the West Highland Way and through Mugdock Country Park, starting and finishing at the Headquarters of the 20th Glasgow (1st Milngavie) Scout Group at Milngavie Scout Hall, 45-49 Main Street, Milngavie G62 6BX. The advertised distance is approximately 8.4 miles on a mixture of hard trails, single track and unmade ground.

The route will be fully marked and marshalled and the event holds a Scottish Athletics Permit and is run under UK Athletics Rules. Timing is electronic with chip timing and results available on crossing the finish line. There are no water or feed stations on course so competitors must carry their own supplies.

The event is open to runners aged 17 and over. Entry is limited to 300 places and a waiting list will operate once entries are full. Transferring race numbers is not permitted. Refunds for withdrawals are available according to set deadlines: full refund before 1 April 2026, 50% refund between 1 April and 1 May, and no refund after 1 May.

Finishers receive a medal and refreshments at race headquarters. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women overall and to age-category winners including V40, V50, V60, V70 and V80. Proceeds support improvements to the Scout Hall and equipment for the Scout Group's young members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
