The Milngavie Trail Race 2026

The Milngavie Trail Race is an approximately 8.4 miles trail race held around sections of the West Highland Way and Mugdock Country Park. The event starts and finishes at the Scout Hall, Headquarters of the 20th Glasgow (1st Milngavie) Scout Group in Milngavie.

The route uses a mixture of hard trails, single track and unmade ground. The course will be signposted and marshalled and the event is held under a Scottish Athletics permit and UK Athletics rules. Timing is electronic with results available as runners cross the finish line. All finishers receive a medal and refreshments at race headquarters.

The event is open to runners aged 17 years or older on race day. Entry is limited to 300 places; a waiting list operates once the limit is reached. Transferring race numbers is not permitted. There will be no water or feed stations on the course, so runners must carry any water or food they require. Runners remain responsible for their own safety and should be appropriately dressed and trained for the terrain and weather.

Facilities at race headquarters include registration, toilets and changing space but no showers. Kit bags may be left at race headquarters but remain the runner's responsibility. Funds raised support improvements to the Scout Hall and equipment for the group’s young members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
