The Milngavie Trail Race 2026

The Milngavie Trail Race is a trail running event on 07 June 2026 that uses sections of the West Highland Way and Mugdock Country Park. The race starts and finishes at the Headquarters of the 20th Glasgow 1st Milngavie Scout Group and follows fully signposted and marshalled routes through varied terrain.

The course runs over a mixture of hard trails, single track and unmade ground. Runners are responsible for their own safety and must be appropriately dressed and trained for the conditions. There are no water or feed stations on course so participants must carry any water or food they will need.

Race details include electronic chip timing with results available at the finish, a Scottish Athletics Permit and competition under UK Athletics Rules. All finishers receive a medal and refreshments at race HQ. Prizes are awarded to the overall top three male and female finishers and to winners in senior age categories. Recorded course best times are 52:10 for men (2016) and 57:42 for women (2019).

Entry is open to runners aged 17 and over and the field is limited to 300 places with a waiting list once full. The event provides changing and toilet facilities at the Scout Hall but no showers. There is no parking at race HQ; nearby parking is available at local car parks and the train station, which is a short walk from the hall.
