About the race

ACORN South By Five at Pollok Park is a single 5 km event held on 13 December 2026 as part of the South By Five series organised by Acorn Trails. The series visits six parks over a 12 week period, with a 5 km event staged in each park. This entry is for one event only and is not the full series. The organiser offers both single-event entries and a full-series option.

To complete the series and earn the designation "Fiver," a participant must finish five of the six races. Full-series entries include an attendance condition: if an entrant fails to attend two of the first three events, their series place may be withdrawn and offered to the waiting list without refund. Entry to the races is free, but there is a mandatory minimum donation to the Acorn Trails Community Fund. The fund supports coach and first aid training, local good causes, and investment in trails and parks.

Places are limited; the event lists a total of 65 places. Entrants who cannot afford the donation are asked to contact the organiser; discretion is assured. Participants are also encouraged to bring donations for the local foodbank in lieu of an entry fee. The series supports the local charity Give A Dog A Bone which helps older adults adopt rescue animals.

Each park visit will include an organised litter pick, with details released closer to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
