Course, logistics and policies

The start/finish is at Powissett Lodge (use 80 Carby St, Westwood, MA for navigation). The course is an approximate 3.5 mile loop of mixed single-track and double-track fire road trails. Terrain is mostly wooded, runs along a pond with a couple of beach sections, and includes roots, rocks, small streams, modest hills, boardwalks and wood bridges. The course will be marked with directional arrows, pink ribbons and flagging; participants are expected to follow the marked route and backtrack if they go off course.

There is a single aid station at the start/finish offering at minimum water, an electrolyte drink, PB&J and hot sandwiches; additional food may be supplied by 6 Hour participants. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available but cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed. This is a cupless event, so participants should bring a cup or bottle. Pacers are not allowed; crew access is permitted only at the start/finish aid station. Parking can be tight and may require walking up to about 0.75 miles from a car; Hale Summer Club parking is often used as an alternative and requires a short walk. Volunteers are used for many race functions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
