Tackle the Trail

Tackle the Trail is a point-to-point trail race located in Northeast Connecticut along the Airline Trail. The event takes place approximately 45 minutes from Providence and one hour from Boston. Participants navigate a natural course that features four relay stations staffed by volunteers.

The event offers several distance options for individual participants and groups:

  • Marathon: 26.2 miles for individual runners.
  • Relay Team Marathon: 26.2 miles for teams of up to five people.
  • Half Marathon: 13.1 miles for individual runners.
  • 10K: 6.2 miles for individual runners.

Specific time limits are in place for the longer distances. The marathon and relay marathon have a five-hour time limit, while the half marathon has a three-hour time limit. The race follows a point-to-point format rather than a looped course.

Proceeds from the event are used to support local students pursuing higher education. Participants receive race branded items and are eligible for prizes. Registration is required in advance as there is no registration available on the day of the event. The race is known to reach its full capacity before the closing date.
