Trail Running at Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs

The Swinsty & Fewston Lakeside Dash is a trail running event held in Yorkshire. The course consists of a 6.7-mile reservoir loop that takes participants around both the Fewston and Swinsty Reservoirs. Runners navigate a mix of off-road terrain, peaceful woodland paths, and quiet countryside tracks. The terrain features well-maintained, good-quality trail paths with an undulating elevation profile.

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 6.7 Miles
  • Half Marathon
  • 20-Mile Race
  • Marathon

The event is fully TRA-licensed and features a marshalled and signed course. Feed and drink stations are positioned approximately every 3 miles, offering various snacks and drinks. This is a cup-less event, so runners are expected to bring their own reusable bottles or cups. Road shoes are recommended for the course surface.

Facilities at the site include public toilets located within the car park near the registration area. Parking is available via a public pay-and-display lot next to the start. The event maintains a specific headphone policy, permitting only bone-conducting or "one-in, one-out" in-ear headphones to ensure runners can hear instructions from marshals and remain aware of potential road crossings. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-race treats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
