Swift Foot Trail Runs

The event takes place on May 23, 2026, in the Scratchgravel Hills northwest of Helena, Montana. For 2026 only a 50K distance is offered; other race distances are cancelled for 2026 with shorter distances expected in 2027. The race start is at Echo Lane Trailhead (Echo Ln., Helena, MT 59602).

The course has minimal markings and runners are self supported. Water will be available at aid stations, and the race director will coordinate drop bags to the Head Ln., Norris Rd., and John G Mine Rd. aid stations. Phone service is reported to be available at all aid stations. Participants who prefer to stop earlier may place a car or arrange pickup at Head Ln. Trailhead (about 13 miles), Norris Rd. Trailhead (about 18 miles), or John G Mine Rd. Trailhead (about 25 miles).

Trail terrain includes sections of technical rocky trail, smooth single track, and old jeep roads. The Scratchgravel Hills receive strong sun exposure, which can allow earlier spring trail access. Registration for the event closes on Sun, May 17 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
