The Moonlight on Mt Ascension Trail Run, hosted by the Helena Ultra Runners League, is a unique nighttime trail running event in Montana. Held in Helena’s South Hills at Mount Ascension and Rodney Ridge, the course features a modified figure-8 loop of 11.57 miles on 100% singletrack with 2,645 feet of elevation gain per loop. Participants have 12 hours to complete as many loops as possible, running through the night. The trails are rugged and wildlife such as deer, black bears, and mountain lions may be encountered.
