Susitna 100 and Little Su 50K

Alaska Winter Wilderness Races organizes the Susitna 100 and the Little Su 50K, human-powered winter trail races held in February on marked trails near Big Lake, Alaska. The events take place on trails with varied winter conditions and visible landscape views.

The Susitna 100 is scheduled for February 13 to 15 and the Little Su 50K for February 14. Portions of the land used for the races are owned by the Mental Health Trust Authority and are used under permit. Permit revenue supports the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and its work for trust beneficiaries in Alaska. Trail races of 8 miles and 4 miles on the Turnagain Arm Trail with rocky, hilly single track and scenic views. Entry fees fund the UAA Ski Team and field size is limited to 200 participants.

A backyard ultra at Government Peak Recreation Area near Hatcher Pass where runners repeat a 4.167 mile loop each hour until one person remains. The course uses single track and ski trails and the field is limited to 75 runners.

Mud Factor Anchorage is a 5K mud and obstacle run at Kincaid Park on July 19, 2026. Participants must bring a signed waiver and adults need photo ID; spectators pay a $10 cash fee for festival area access.
