2nd Surrey Ultra Mountain Marathon

The Surrey Ultra Mountain Marathon is a two-day, two-person team, self-supported navigation and endurance challenge based at Newlands Corner, Albury, Guildford GU4 8SE. The event runs over Saturday and Sunday on 8 and 9 May 2027 and finishes back at Newlands Corner.

Teams must be pairs only; single entrants are not allowed. Entry is limited to a maximum of 20 teams. Competitors carry all required kit for the weekend, including camping gear, cooking gear and fuel, and all personal food.

Participants have scheduled scoring periods on each day to visit virtual controls across the Surrey Hills, with seven hours allocated on the first day and six hours on the second day to gain points. All teams start at the same time on each day and are expected to finish together in theory.

The entry fee is £60 per team of two and includes camping, maps, a t-shirt and one beer in camp. The fee increases to £70 per team on 1 February 2027. Participation is at individual risk; there is no event insurance, medical coverage, or repatriation provided.

Camping at the base is basic. Hot and cold water, showers and toilets are available, and the site is a working farm where overnight noise from animals and other groups is possible. The event is organised by Trionium. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
