Surrey Hills Half Marathon

The Surrey Hills Half Marathon is a guided trail run of 13 miles that starts and finishes in Guildford, Surrey. The route passes St Martha's Church and hill and includes sections of the North Downs Way, with other points of interest such as the village of Shere, Newlands Corner and Hackhurst Downs. The exact route changes from date to date but always includes St Martha's Church and parts of the North Downs Way.

Participants run together as a group rather than racing. Organisers often hike steeper climbs and regroup regularly. Runners should be comfortable maintaining an average pace of around 10 minutes per mile (6:15 minutes per km) on trails for prolonged periods; faster runners should expect sections at a more social pace.

A full kit list is provided before the run. Evening runs offer the opportunity to trial Silva torches. A car park is available at the meeting location and the start is a short run or taxi ride from a nearby train station. The listed cost is £25 per person. The organiser may provide an alcohol free beer at the end of the run subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
