The Surrey Hills Half Marathon is a guided trail half marathon that starts and finishes in Guildford, Surrey. The route covers 13 miles and includes sections of the North Downs Way. The course visits St Martha's Church and hill on every date and may also pass the village of Shere, Newlands Corner and Hackhurst Downs. The exact route changes between dates.
The event is run as a group rather than a race. Participants should be able to maintain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per km) on trail for prolonged periods. A guide who is an experienced ultra runner, running coach and Salomon ambassador leads the group.
