Superhuman Games
The Superhuman Games is an outdoor functional fitness and endurance event held at the Greville Smyth Sports Ground. Established in 2013, the competition features a hybrid format that tests participants on multiple aspects of physical fitness.
The event consists of five separate workouts throughout the day. Each workout lasts for 20 minutes, and the objective is to complete as many laps as possible within that timeframe. The specific movements change annually, with new designs released 12 weeks before the competition. The workouts follow five consistent themes:
- Strength & Honour: Heavy lifting tasks such as tyre flips, tyre pulls, drags, and sandbag work.
- Brutal Beat Down: High-intensity full body and bodyweight movements focused on mobility and grit.
- Unconventional Beast: Carry-based challenges using objects like logs, blocks, and kegs.
- Assault Course: A military-style obstacle course completed in a "you-go-I-go" team format.
- VO2 Max: High-cardio endurance activities including running, rucking, and hill sprints.
Participants can enter in several categories, which are further divided into age-based groups such as Open, Masters, and Vets:
- Mixed Teams of 4 (2 men and 2 women)
- Mixed Pairs (1 man and 1 woman)
- Womens Pairs
- Mens Pairs
Registrations are open to various backgrounds, including military personnel, CrossFit participants, and obstacle course racers. Workouts prioritize non-technical movements to remain accessible for different experience levels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
