Multi-Terrain Racing in Wiltshire

The Hazelbury Hurrah! is a multi-terrain running event organized by Corsham Running Club. The event takes place at Leafy Lane Playing Fields in Corsham and offers two distinct distances for participants of different ages. The race is Trail Running Association licensed and UK Athletics insured.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 6 miles for participants aged 16 and over.
  • 2 km for junior runners aged 8 to 18.

The main 6 mile route features a varied terrain consisting of woods, fields, and road sections. The course circles Hazelbury Manor and Box, incorporating hills and technical sections that may be muddy depending on the weather. For the main race, finishers receive a pie and a beer, with non-alcoholic and vegan alternatives provided. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, age category winners from V40 to V70, and the first team.

The junior race consists of a flat 2 km course staged as a two-lap circuit around the sports field and through Leafy Lane woods. A section of the route passes near a natural burial ground. All junior finishers receive a medal, a drink, and a snack. The organizers utilize a marshaling system to maintain line-of-sight supervision for safety, as junior runners must participate unaccompanied. Awards are available for the first male and female finishers in age categories ranging from under 10 to under 18. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
