Overview
The Sundown Trail Races is a series of six trail running events held on Wednesdays from May through August at the ASC Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The series is hosted by the Rock Hill Striders.
Event Details
Each race takes place at 6:30 PM near the Canteen at the ASC Greenway's Lake Haigler Entrance. The course distance for each event is between three and five miles, featuring a combination of single track and gravel roads.
Registration opens on February 1, 2026. A full series registration includes commemorative swag. Individual event registrations are also available.
Awards and Scoring
A variety of prizes are awarded. For the individual races, half of the events feature a raffle where all participants are entered, while the other half award prizes for specific finishing places.
For the series championship, a points system is used. A participant's four best finishes from the six races count toward their series score. Awards are given to the top male, female, and overall champion.
Additional Information
All ages and paces are welcome; participants can run or hike. After the races, food and beverage specials are available at the nearby Gateway Canteen, which is open until 9:00 PM. Events are held rain or shine, with potential schedule adjustments for severe weather. A makeup date is scheduled for the first Wednesday of September in the event of a cancellation.
