About the Event
The Sundown Trail Races is a six-race series held on the trails at the ASC Greenway (Anne Springs Close Greenway) in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The series is hosted by the Rock Hill Striders. Races take place on Wednesday evenings in May, June, July, and August. The series includes individual races in May, June (two races), July (two races), and August.
Distances
The courses for each race are between three and five miles. They feature a combination of single-track trails and gravel roads.
Event Details
The events take place near the Canteen at the Lake Haigler Entrance of the ASC Greenway. Registration for the full series includes commemorative swag. Participants can register for individual races or the entire series.
A points system determines series champions. A participant's best four finishes from the series count towards scoring for the top male, female, and overall champion awards. During the series, half of the events feature a raffle where all participants are entered, while the other half award prizes for specific finishing places.
The Gateway Canteen at the venue will be open after the races, offering food and beverage specials. The events are held rain or shine, but severe weather (like lightning or hail) may lead to an adjusted start time or a cancellation. Any cancelled race will be made up on the first Wednesday of September.
