Sun Mountain 50M & 50K

The Sun Mountain 50M & 50K is a trail running event held in Winthrop, Washington, on the eastern side of the North Cascades near the Methow River Valley. The courses feature mostly gradual, smooth, and runnable mountain trails with moderate elevation gain, offering scenic views of wildflower fields and snow-capped Cascade peaks. In 2025, the race starts and finishes at the Chickadee Trailhead, eliminating previous pavement sections, with shuttle service provided from Big Twin Lake Resort Campground due to limited parking. The event takes place on ancestral lands of several Indigenous tribes, who are offered free entry.
