Summer Sunset Half and Long 10

The Summer Sunset event in Perranporth on 11 July 2026 offers two coastal running options along the north coast path between Perranporth and Crantock. The programme includes a half marathon out and back between Perranporth beach and the Bowgie Inn at Crantock, and a new long 10 that starts near the Bowgie and finishes on Perranporth beach.

Key event features include:

• Half marathon 13.1 miles out and back
• Long 10 10.5 km along the coast

The event supports Cornwall Air Ambulance with optional donations at entry. Aid is provided on course with a feed station at the halfway/turnaround point offering fluid and sugary snacks. The Bowgie Inn will be open for food and drinks for supporters. Toilets at the surf lifesaving club are limited; additional facilities are available in the main beach car park.

Safety and timing details stated by the organiser include mandatory head torches for after-dark running, a requirement to carry a mobile phone and fluids, and cut off times for each distance (the half has an overall four hour cut off with a two hour cutoff at the turnaround point; the long 10 has a two hour cut off). Timing is managed via an app service rather than chip timing. All finishers receive a medal and awards are given to top finishers.
