Summer Sunset Half & Long Ten 2026

The Summer Sunset event takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026 in Perranporth, Cornwall. It is organised by Purple Gecko Events and raises funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance with an optional donation on entry. The event is timed using an app service; there is no chip timing. Competitors receive a medal and there are awards for top finishers. GPS tracking, a feed station at the halfway point, and free race photography are provided.

Course, distances and race details

  • 13.1 miles - out-and-back between Perranporth Beach and the Bowgie Inn at Crantock.
  • 10.5 km - long 10 along the north Cornwall coast, starting at the Bowgie Inn and finishing on Perranporth Beach.

Head torches are essential. Runners are asked to carry a mobile phone and fluid. The half marathon has a 4 hour overall cut off and a 2 hour cut off at the turnaround point; the long 10 has a 2 hour cut off. Race registration takes place at venue locations on the day.
