Summer Sasquatch - Salt Fork State Park
Summer Sasquatch is a trail running event held at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio. The event offers three distances on a looped course that uses the park’s hiking and bridle trails.
- 50k three loops, over 4,000 feet elevation gain
- 20 Mile two loops
- 10 Mile one loop; hikers are welcome
The loop measures about 10.4 miles and serves as the building block for each distance. The 50k follows three loops of the course and lists total elevation gain of over 4,000 feet. The 20 Mile course covers two loops, and the 10 Mile uses a single loop suitable for runners and hikers.
Participants receive a triblend T-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women and top three men and women in 5-year age groups ranging from 19 and under through 70 and over. Donations collected for the event benefit the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Mounted Search and Rescue.
Summer Sasquatch is part of the Ohio Endurance Series. Athletes who compete in multiple series events can qualify for series recognition and a trading card showing race statistics. Lodging is available at Salt Fork Lodge, which offers rooms, a restaurant, indoor and outdoor pool access, and a game room; a deposit is required and refundable up to 72 hours prior to arrival.
