Event Overview

Tuscazoar Raw is a trail running event held at Camp Tuscazoar in Dover, Ohio. It offers three race distances: 100K, 50K, and 25K. The 100K distance features approximately 10,500 feet of total elevation gain. The event has a 20-hour cutoff time for all distances.

Course Details

The race starts and finishes at the Stockade building near the camp's main parking lot. The course consists of two main loops. The first is a 19-mile loop. The second is a separate 12-mile loop. This creates a figure-eight layout. The 100K race requires completing this figure-eight twice. The 50K race requires completing it once. The 25K distance splits off from the 19-mile loop to achieve its total distance. The terrain is primarily trails with about 1.5 miles of packed gravel camp road.

Race Information

Packet pickup is available on the day before the race and on race morning. The event is a cupless race, so participants must carry their own hydration vessel (e.g., vest, bottle) for refilling at aid stations. Pacers are not permitted for any distance.

Aid stations are placed along the course, offering hydration and food. Some stations are designated as "full aid" with both salty and sweet foods, while others are water only. Crew access is permitted at specific points on the course: Mile 5.4, Mile 19, Mile 22.5, Mile 25.5, and Mile 31. Spectators are welcome at the start/finish area.

Registration and Series

The event is part of the Tuscazoar Series, which includes two other races at the same location. Runners who register for all three races receive a discount and a special series award.

Post-Race

Every entrant receives a race shirt and a beer ticket. Finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to overall male and female winners for each distance, as well as age group awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
