Little River Trail Run

The Little River Trail Run is the 44th annual trail event held in Little River, Kansas, with the start and finish on Main Street and the course routed west of town. The event offers multiple race formats and age divisions.

• Pony Express 3-person Relay

• Youth Pony Express 3-person Relay

The 10K loop includes roadways, two creek crossings, rolling native grassland, local cattle and the feature known as Suicide Hill. The Pony Express relay covers the 10K course with three runners per team, each running roughly one third of the route; batons are provided.

Ruck division details: competitors must carry a backpack weighing at least 20 pounds, with mandatory weigh-in at the finish line. Weight must be carried on the back; sling bags and duffel bags are not allowed. Awards cover overall positions and Heaviest Pack, and ruck entrants who register in time receive swag bags, a sticker and a T-shirt.

Prizes and recognition include the "COW CHIP" for the top 10K male and female, medals for top three in each age category, and a $50 bonus for any new course record in the 5K, 10K or Pony Express races.
