Awards are given to runners who complete at least 50K in their event and to the top three finishers in each event. A doubler award is available for participants who also run the Heat Wave 6/12/24 event. Registered participants receive a coffee mug and a t-shirt if registered before October 23.

Course, rules and services

The course is a certified 400 meter track located behind the school; USATF Course ID KS24008TJD. Laps are counted for distance (4 laps = 0.99 mile or 1600 meters; 1609 meters = 1 mile). The course direction will be changed every 4 hours.

The event uses MyLaps BibTag chip timing; the race bib contains the timing chip and must be worn visibly on the front. Runners should remove their bib after finishing to avoid extra lap counts. Aid station offerings include standard items plus soups and broths; the event is cup-less so participants should bring a refillable cup. Crews, tents, and drop bags are allowed on the infield; dogs are permitted in the parking lot but not on the track. Pacers are not allowed. Age rule: runners under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the race. Track lane etiquette and no-littering rules are enforced.
