Carry Your Cross is a trail event held at Kanopolis Lake State Park. One race requires competitors to carry a wooden cross weighing more than 50 lb over a 10-kilometer trail described as rugged terrain. The organizer also offers separate trail races and post-race activities including music, games, awards, and a free-will-donation BBQ meal for participants and spectators. Prizes and event merchandise are awarded to the first three finishers in the Carry Your Cross race.

The Carry Your Cross heat starts first, followed by the 5K and 10K trail runs. The event continues rain or shine; participants are advised to plan for wind. Entry is limited to 50 race slots. Registration opens December 1, 2025. Early bird registration runs December 1 - December 31. Standard registration runs January 1 - March 13. The 2026 Carry Your Cross event date is March 28. The event is open to all genders, and the 5K and 10K options are available to children aged 8 and older or family members who run alongside a cross carrier.
