Sunflower Trail Run

The Sunflower Trail Run is an annual trail event held at Kansas Maze in Buhler, Kansas. The 2026 event is listed as the 8th annual Sunflower Trail Run and is scheduled for August 29, 2026 at 13209 E. 82nd Ave, Buhler KS 67522. The course runs through more than 20 acres of planted sunflowers with pathways cut through the field.

• 1 mile

The event includes competitive and non competitive 5K divisions and a 1 mile run/walk. The 5K competitive division is for runners only and does not allow strollers; the non competitive 5K and the 1 mile allow strollers. All entrants receive a finisher t shirt and finisher medal if registered before the stated cutoff; medals and shirts must be picked up in person unless registered as a virtual runner or other arrangements are made. Participants also receive two free admissions to the Sunflower Festival and free pancakes are served after the races for runners and guests.

Course conditions note that uneven ground and wet or muddy conditions can occur and pollinating bees will be present in the sunflower field. Runners must stay on marked pathways; violators may be disqualified. Spectators are not allowed on the course or in the sunflower field but may view from the lookout bridge or other platforms. Race timing and official results are provided by Morgan Sports. Kansas Maze reserves the right to cancel or change the date based on sunflower blooms, weather, or field conditions.
