The Sunflower Trail Run takes place on Saturday, August 29, 2026 in Buhler, KS at 13209 East 82nd Avenue. The event offers multiple entry options including in-person and virtual formats. Registration categories include competitive and non-competitive divisions and a virtual 5K with a registration deadline for the virtual entry on August 25, 2026.

Course, rules and amenities

The course is on dirt trails cut through more than 20 acres of sunflower field. Participants must stay on the designated pathways; violation may result in disqualification. Uneven ground and possible mud are noted conditions, and pollinating bees will be present. Spectators are not allowed on the course or in the sunflower field; viewing is available from a lookout bridge and other platforms. A water station will be provided. All in-person participants receive a finisher t-shirt, finisher medal, and a one-day admission pass to the Kansas Maze sunflower festival; t-shirt sizes may not be guaranteed for late registrants.
