Suffolk Back Yard Ultra Festival is a backyard ultra held at High Lodge, Thetford Forest in Suffolk. The format requires runners to complete a fixed loop each hour; each loop must be finished within one hour and the last person able to complete a loop is the winner. Chip timing is used and the winner receives a prize of £1,000.

Logistics and facilities

There is one aid station at the start/finish area with hot and cold water and basic snacks while on-site vendors operate. When vendors depart, a cooking station and periodic hot food service will be provided. Onsite facilities include a coffee vendor, a food van, and portable toilets and urinals. Camping for runners and crews is free across two camping areas; tent sizes should be kept small and open flames or stoves are not allowed near tents. There is no general site power and signal is patchy; a limited charging station and public Wi‑Fi are available.

Rules, parking and other notes

The official backyard rules require loops of the specified length and hourly starts; no personal aid is allowed during a loop and eliminated runners may not remain on course. Parking is available for a fee of £10 for the event period. Entry closes 14 days before race day. Discounts are available for participants who meet specified backyard performance criteria.
