The Stockport Trail Half Marathon takes place along the Middlewood Way and Macclesfield Canal. The event is now in its 12th year.

Event Details

The race headquarters, registration, parking, and toilets are located at the Wood Lane Car Park on the Middlewood Way, close to the start. Food and drink are available near the start/finish area. The start/finish is by the Middlewood Way car park on Wood Lane in Marple, Stockport.

The race uses chip timing, with numbers and timing chips provided on the day. The start is staggered to relieve congestion and begins at 09:30. A special "Dave Wave" is the last wave to set off, open to anyone who prefers a less competitive start.

Registration & Entry

Registration opens at 08:00. There are no entries on the day, and the race entry limit is 500. The entry fee is £26.00. UK Athletics members receive a £2 discount upon validation of their membership. An optional medal can be pre-ordered for £4.00.

Course & Cut-off

The event has a participant limit of 500. There is no official cut-off time, but runners expecting to take longer than 3 hours 15 minutes are asked to inform the organizers before race day for planning purposes.

Prizes & Awards

Prizes are awarded for the first three overall male and female finishers, age group winners in 5-year bands from age 40, and team prizes (male/female, three to count).

Experience a 50 km trail loop through the scenic Peak District starting from Hayfield. This self-navigating ultra marathon follows the Pennine Way and Limestone Way, offering 1840 metres of ascent for all experience levels.

Choose your challenge at WODland Endurorun, a trail run on a scenic 5 km loop in Holme Styes Wood. Options range from a simple 5 km to a 6 hour team relay. Everyone runs the same course and receives a finisher's medal.

A 34 km loop through the scenic White Peak area visiting historic villages and Chatsworth Park. This volunteer run event features 825 meters of ascent and concludes with stunning views along the gritstone edges.
