The Stockport Trail Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 22 February 2026 along the Middlewood Way and the Macclesfield Canal near Wood Lane, Marple, Stockport (postcode SK6 7RE). The race is organised by Crazy Legs Events and follows a trail route with Race HQ located close to Wood Lane Car Park where registration, parking and toilets are provided. The event uses chip timing and numbers and timing chips are issued on the day. There is a final, non-competitive wave for runners who prefer to run rather than race.

Entry and race details

The event is a half marathon. Entry is priced at £26.00, with an additional admin charge of £1.60; UK Athletics members receive a £2 discount on validation. The field is limited to 500 entries and there are no on-the-day entries for this event. Organisers do not operate a cut-off time but ask to be informed in advance if a participant expects to take longer than 3 hours 15 minutes. Medals are not provided automatically; a medal can be pre-ordered for £4.00. Prizes are awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers, age-group winners in five-year bands from age 40, and team prizes for male and female teams (three to count). Montane Winter Spine is a non stop 268 mile winter ultra along the Pennine Way from Edale to Kirk Yetholm with a 168 hour cutoff. Limited to 150 runners, it demands serious fitness and winter mountain experience.

The Trigger Fell Race is a tough 33 km fell run across Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder from Marsden to Edale in the Peak District, climbing 1650 m. Entries are limited and profits go to Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team.

Run Delamere Forest on 11 January 2026 across wide trails and singletrack, mostly flat with a final climb up Old Pale. Pick the 10 km or 13.1 mile route and enjoy electronic timing, finish drinks and a custom finisher's medal.

Take on The Lamb's Longer Leg in Hayfield, Peak District on Sunday 11 Jan 2026, a scenic but testing 5 km course with 305 m of climb. Entry is by pre entry only and parking is limited; teams are welcome.
