The University of St Andrews Athletics and Cross Country Club is organising the St Andrews West Sands 5k on 11 October 2025 at West Sands, St Andrews, Fife (nearest postcode KY16 9XL). The race is a 5 km out-and-back run along West Sands beach. The event is limited to 150 participants and the minimum age is 11.

Entry, facilities and results

Entry is online only and entries close on 9 October 2025. Prices vary by category and date; student and non-student rates apply, with discounted rates for members of SA EA WA. A 4% service fee (minimum 50p) applies to each sign-up. Non-Scottish Athletics members pay a £2 levy. Refunds are available only if the place can be transferred to someone on the waiting list before entries close; refunds are issued less a £1 EntryCentral fee. Students must provide a matriculation number and university email for verification.

Registration and number collection take place on the day alongside the Blown Away Beach Hut. There are public toilets next to registration and no changing facilities. There is grass parking along West Sands Road; participants are asked not to block the road. Prizes will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers.
