Squak Mountain Trail Run

Squak Mountain Trail Run takes place on April 18, 2026, at Squak Mountain State Park near Issaquah, Washington. The event uses three loops: a 12K loop, a half-marathon loop, and a 50K loop. The 50K course includes an additional lap so that distance covers more trail mileage and elevation. All courses start and finish at the main Squak Mountain trailhead.

Distances offered:

  • 12K
  • Half marathon
  • 50K

The park features miles of forested singletrack with moss-covered trees, ferns, streams, and viewpoints that look toward surrounding mountains and Issaquah below. All distances begin with a steady significant climb, include technical and fast trail sections, and descend past the old Bullitt homestead remnants. Elevation gain is listed as 2000 ft for the 12K, 3800 ft for the half marathon, and 8800 ft for the 50K. Aid stations are located along the courses; specific aid station mile markers are provided for each distance in the event information.

Course logistics note that the trail network is complex with many intersections and that trails remain open to other users including hikers and equestrians. The event is cupless; all runners must carry a refillable container. Parking requires a Washington Discover Pass and on-site parking is limited. A 0.5 mile kids loop is offered as part of the Woodland Speeders program. Finishers receive handmade finisher swag produced with solar power.
