Year of the Horse Bridle Trails 5 mile and 10 mile Trail Race

The Year of the Horse trail races are scheduled for April 11, 2026 at Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland, WA. The event offers two marked trail options and awards for top finishers in male and female categories for each distance.

Distances:

  • 5 mile Brown horse course
  • 10 mile White horse trail, two laps of the 5 mile loop

Aid and on-course services are provided approximately every 2.5 miles and include water, Gatorade, gels, and first aid. All entrants receive a race T shirt and all finishers receive a finisher medallion. Top finishers receive a custom Horse Trophy and Starbucks gift cards. Finish line provisions include hot Chinese baozi and fruit such as apples, oranges, and bananas.

Race procedures note that 10 mile runners complete the 5 mile loop twice and that runners must pass through two red cones at the finish to be scored. Entry fees listed are thirty dollars for the 5 mile and forty dollars for the 10 mile. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
