The Springfield Stars & Stripes event is a community run and walk held on Independence Day in Springfield, Vermont. The course follows an out-and-back route along the Black River, starting and finishing at the Toonerville Trail trailhead at 280 Clinton Street. Routes offered include both an in-person course and virtual options.

Proceeds benefit the Springfield High School Cross Country team. Registration through Ultrasignup or paper registration at the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center is available until July 2, with an in-person option on race day. The standard registration fee is $20, with a $10 virtual entry option. A family flat fee of $50 covers three or four members when using paper registration; additional family members incur a $10 charge each. The family discount must be arranged by paper form or in person.

Packet pick-up is handled at the trailhead on event day. Post-run refreshments include water, an electrolyte drink, and light snacks such as donuts. Prizes are planned for overall and masters categories plus a best costume award and other assorted prizes. Parking is available at the trailhead between Image Tek Labels and United Construction & Forestry. Music players, strollers, and well behaved short-leashed dogs are permitted; participants should use caution on the road section of the 7.4K. No refunds or transfers are allowed.
