The Springfield Stars & Stripes event is centered at the Toonerville Trail trailhead, 280 Clinton St, Springfield, VT. The course is an out-and-back along the Black River and is described as mostly flat. Distances offered include:

  • 7.4K run in-person and virtual
  • 4K walk in-person and virtual

This run and walk serves as a benefit for Springfield High School Cross Country. Standard registration is $20 when completed by July 2 via Ultrasignup or by paper registration at the Edgar May Health & Recreation Center. In-person registration on the day of the event is also $20. Family pricing is a flat $50 for three or four family members; each additional family member is $10. The family discount requires a paper registration at the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center by July 2 or at the event.

Packet pick-up will be held at the Toonerville Trail trailhead on July 4 from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. Post-run provisions include water, Nuun electrolyte drink, and light snacks such as donuts. Prizes include first place female and male overall and masters (50+), a best costume award, and other random prizes. Parking is available at the trailhead between Image Tek Labels and United Construction & Forestry. There are no refunds or transfers. Music players, strollers, and well-behaved short-leashed dogs are permitted with standard safety precautions. A virtual entry option is available for a $10 donation, with results posted if submitted.
