Springfield Stars & Stripes 7.4K Run & 4K Walk/Fun Run

The event takes place Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Toonerville Trail trailhead, 280 Clinton St, Springfield, VT. This is the fourth annual Springfield Stars & Stripes Fun Run & Walk.

The course is a mostly flat out-and-back along the Black River. The 7.4K includes a short road section. Parking is available in the trailhead lot located between Image Tek Labels and United Construction & Forestry.

Registration options include online entry, a paper entry form available through July 2 at Edgar May Health and Recreation Center (140 Clinton St), and in-person registration and packet pick-up at the trailhead on July 4. Individual registration is $20 regardless of date. A family entry fee covers up to four family members for $50; each additional family member over four is $10. The family pricing must be processed in person at Edgar May Health and Recreation Center or at the event.

Post-run refreshments will include water, an electrolyte drink, and light snacks such as donuts and Otter Pops. Prizes for the 7.4K include first place Female and Male Overall and Masters (50+), a Best Costume award, and other assorted prizes. Music players are allowed with one earbud. Strollers are permitted. Well-behaved short-leashed dogs are allowed and may wear stars and stripes attire. No refunds or transfers to other runners or other years are allowed.

A virtual option is available for a $10 donation to the Springfield High School Cross Country team; submitted virtual results may be posted by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
