Spring Training Camp is a small-group trail running camp in Oliverea, NY, run by The Running Kind and Metta Performance. The camp takes place Friday May 22 to Sunday May 24, 2026, in the Catskill Mountains, located just over 100 miles north of New York City. The organizers recommend this camp for runners who are healthy and fit: road runners who can cover a half marathon in about 2 hours or trail runners with at least one year of experience. The camp is not open to runners under the age of 21.
The terrain on camp runs includes technical scrambles, runnable ridge lines, and long vertical climbs. The program includes on-trail coaching and optional mental performance discussions led by Metta Performance.
Program and inclusions
Friday focuses on arrival, social connecting, intention setting, and a Metta Performance session. Saturday includes breakfast at the cabins, a long run with substantial vertical gain, post-run lunch and a cold plunge, another Metta Performance session, and individual coaching discussions followed by dinner. Sunday includes breakfast, a shorter run with vertical gain, a final Metta Performance session, then departure.
