Overview
The Spring Training Camp is a running event organized by The Running Kind and Metta Performance. It takes place in the Catskill mountains near Oliverea, New York. The camp involves a small group setting for a guided coaching experience over a weekend.
Schedule
The camp begins on a Friday with arrival, social connecting, intention setting, and a performance session. Saturday includes breakfast, a long run of about 13 miles with approximately 5000 feet of elevation gain, post-run lunch, a cold plunge, performance sessions, and dinner. Sunday features breakfast, a shorter run of about 8 miles with approximately 3000 feet of elevation gain, a final performance session, and departure.
What's Included
Participation includes lodging for Friday and Saturday evenings, running and mental performance coaching, meals on Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and Sunday (breakfast, lunch), a 25% discount on entry to the Climb It For Climate race, and a swag item.
Preparation
The camp is designed to prepare runners for mountainous trail races in the Catskills. Organizers recommend the camp for runners who are healthy and in good fitness with trail experience, suggesting road runners capable of a two-hour half marathon or trail runners with at least one year of experience.
