Rock The Ridge
Rock The Ridge is a fundraising trail event held at Mohonk Preserve in the Shawangunk Mountains of New York's Hudson Valley on May 2, 2026. Now in its 13th year, the event raises funds to support the Preserve’s work protecting the northern Shawangunk Ridge and funding conservation, community education, stewardship, and visitor experience programs.
The course follows well-marked, wide carriage roads and travels through forests and along ridgelines with scenic vistas. The 50 mile route has an 18 hour cutoff. The event provides closely spaced, well-stocked aid stations, volunteer support, personalized fundraising assistance, and a finish-line party.
Distance options include:
- 50 miles Ultra Marathon
- 26.2 miles Trail Marathon
- Relay teams for two, three or four people
Funds raised during Rock The Ridge support land protection, scientific monitoring, outdoor education programs, and stewardship of more than 8,000 acres managed by Mohonk Preserve. The event description emphasizes organized on-course support and fundraising as core elements of the experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
