Event Overview
The Pawling 24 Hour Trail Running Festival is a timed trail running event held at Lakeside Park in Pawling, New York. The festival features five different race durations on a looped course: 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours (day start), 12 hours (night start), and 24 hours. All races begin on the same day. This is the event's sixth edition.
The Course
The event takes place on an approximately 1.68-mile loop. The terrain is a combination of pavement, grass, and single-track trail, with about 160 feet of elevation gain per loop.
On-Site Facilities
A large grass field adjacent to the course is available for athletes to set up tents, chairs, and personal aid stations. This area is also for crew and spectators, with access on a first-come, first-served basis. An indoor building near the loop provides shelter and restrooms. A central aid station offers basic nutrition and hydration, including water, soda, fruit, bagels, candy, and products from Skratch and UCAN.
Rules and Information
This is a cupless event; runners must provide their own hydration vessels. Pacers are not allowed for any runner during the event. However, runners in the 24-hour race may be joined by a support person for a maximum of three total laps during the overnight period (after 11 PM). All runners receive a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female runners in each race category, with the 12-hour awards combined for day and night starters. A special belt buckle is awarded to any runner who completes 100 miles or more. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
