Macedonia Trail Race
The Macedonia Trail Race is a trail running event held at Macedonia Brook State Park in Kent, Connecticut. Established in 2019, the race uses single-track and forest trails with technical sections, sustained climbs and descents, and several viewpoints including the Cobble Mountain lookout.
Distances offered
- 12K : single loop, 1870 ft elevation
- 25K : two loops plus a short out-and-back, 3763 ft elevation; part of the Blue Blazed Trail Running Series
- 50K : three loops with additional park trails and three ascents of Cobble Mountain, 7877 ft elevation
The course description notes rocky and technical single track, short road crossings, and a grass finish near the main pavilion. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, and typical food items; the race is cupless, so runners must carry their own hydration bottle, pack, or cup. One aid station is located near Weber Road midway through the 12K loop, and there is an aid station at the end of each loop for the longer distances.
Event rules emphasize no littering, mandatory course following, runner responsibility for navigation, and a discouraged use of personal music devices for safety. Post-race provisions include pre-packaged snacks and non-alcoholic hydration; alcohol is not permitted in the state park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
