Winchester Battlefield Half

Distances

Participants can choose from three distances: 5k, 10k, or half marathon.

Course and Location

The event takes place at Third Winchester Battlefield in Winchester, Virginia. The courses are on trails, using a mostly light gravel dirt path. The 5k is a single loop, the 10k is two loops, and the half marathon consists of three loops with an additional out-and-back section each lap.

Registration and Fees

Registration is available online and on race day. Standard fees are $30 for the 5k, $45 for the 10k, and $65 for the half marathon. Prices increase by $5 for each distance after April 15 and again on race morning.

Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations before April 15; later registrants receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participant Support

Walkers are welcome. There is also a virtual race option for those who cannot attend on race day.

Multiple water stations are available along each course, with Gatorade at some. Restrooms (port-a-johns) are located near the start/finish line.

Awards are given to the top 3 overall men and women, plus first and second place in standard age groups. Top overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.

Timing and Series

The event is chip-timed. Results are posted live online and via a QR code at the race. Performance points count towards the organizer's Year-Long and Spring series, including a "Back of the Pack" series for participants with slower paces.

Race proceeds benefit Team Virginia, an organization that promotes organ donation awareness.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration opens approximately one hour before the first race. Parking is available at Millbrook High School, with specific directions provided.
