The Spring Backyard Burn Trail Run takes place on April 19, 2026 at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, VA. The event is staged from Canopy Pavilion G and parking is provided in the grass field in front of the pavilion and in the Water Mine Water Park gravel lot.

The course uses the park singletrack and offers lake views. Most of the route is relatively smooth singletrack with a few short technical sections that include rocks and roots. There is minimal pavement, no extended climbs, and a series of short ups and downs. Elevation gain is listed as 300 feet for the shorter option and 600 feet for the longer option.

Registration includes professional race operations, staffed aid stations, medical support, post race food including breakfast burritos, music, awards, giveaways, and race swag. A supervised kids program is offered on race day with nature and STEM activities; pre registration is required and program fees apply.
